but it is not hard enough to prevent the external keys from being pressed. It has a handy buckle, that keeps the phone securely inside the pouch, but... but the clasp that is supposed to hold on to the trousers, is weak, and it is relatively easy to lose the whole pouch with the phone in it. Calls for lanyard, to attach the pouch to the belt loop. Yes, it does have a loop, so one can thread it with the belt - but I don't wear belts, and have to use short lanyard instead. The pouch is made in China, and that would explain the somewhat inferior quality.
Aside from the shortcomings of the pouch, the company charges an arm and a leg for shipping, and when I tried to return one of the pouches (I bought two, one for myself, another one for my spouse, shipping charged per item; and my spouse just could not keep it attached and nearly lost it twice, with the phone in it), the seller suggested I pay the return shipping myself, because it is only about $3.00. When I added shipping "to", and shipping back, it turned out that it will be cheaper just to put the unwanted pouch in the trash. I drew a conclusion, that if it - whatever it may be - is not sold and shipped by Amazon, it will not be purchased by me anymore. Too much hassle.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the BEST cell phone case for the money out there! Other cases I've had in the past were held on to my pants with metal clips only and would come off when I brushed against objects. They would also open up their flimsy velcro or magnetic tops and drop my phone out if I was positioned at an angle or, again, brushed against something the right way. NOT THIS ONE! You can secure it to your belt via the loop as well as the metal clip, and the strong plastic lid fastener resists friction and stays closed at any angle. Only if a weightlifter attacks it will it come off your belt or open up unbidden!
To me, it seems most cell phone cases are designed by people who don't carry cell phones. This is an exception. All the ways cell phones normally drop out or come off have been anticipated and delt with.
